Application Instructions

Application Deadline

  • Late applications may be considered if openings are available.
    • Standard application fee: $75 (non-refundable)
    • Late application fee: $150 (non-refundable)


Note to alumni who wish to re-apply: Priority is given to new students. Please contact joe@fontainebleauschools.org before submitting an application.

General Requirements (All Applicants)

Please prepare and submit the following materials:

  1. Resume/CV
  2. Photographs
    • Required: One 2 x 2 inch ID photo (full face visible, head facing the camera directly).
      • Do not include instruments or objects blocking your face.
      • Do not send scans of passports or driver’s licenses.


    • Optional: Up to 4 professional headshots/publicity photos.


  3. Letters of Recommendation
    • Two letters from current or recent teachers (preferably music teachers).


  4. Application Fee
    • $75 (non-refundable).
    • $150 for late applications.


  5. Deposit (Upon Acceptance)
    • A non-refundable $500 deposit must be sent within two weeks of notification to hold your place.


Program-Specific Requirements

Instrumentalists

  • Submit at least 15 minutes of performance video.
    • Acceptable formats: any standard video file, YouTube, or Vimeo links.
    • File limits: max 500 MB per file, 1000 MB total submission size.


  • Repertoire:
    • String players: must include a Bach solo selection and, if possible, a work by a French composer.
    • Pianists: must include a work by a French composer.


Composers

  • Upload the following:
    • Two notated scores (PDF format).
    • High-quality audio recordings of performances of the submitted works.
    • File limits: max 500 MB per file, 1000 MB total submission size.


  • Important Note: Professors work primarily with notated scores. Please do not submit:
    • Improvised scores
    • Graphic scores
    • Scores intended for other media (dance, theater, visual art, etc.)
